Before the chimes of Puerta del Sol on December 31, this Saturday December 30 you can also live the countdown in Madrid and practice for the big day.
The Puerta del Sol will once again be the stage for the so-called Preuvas, that is, the rehearsal of what will happen in the square on December 31.
For this 2023, one of the novelties will be the increase of the capacity for the preuvas, 15 thousand people will be able to attend, that is to say, the double of the previous year, since the Plaza was in the process of remodeling.
On that day, all attendees will be able to attend the Plaza as if it were New Year’s Eve and countdown until 12:00 midnight. All this will take place on December 30, when the Plaza del Sol will be vacated from 9:00 pm. Once vacated, an inspection will be carried out by the police, and then access will be allowed through Alcalá, Mayor, Arenal and Carrera de San Jerónimo streets.
Also, take into account that from 18:00 hours onwards, the access and exit of users will no longer be allowed through Sol station, although it will still be possible to circulate inside the station.
